Understanding Your Extensions (Paired Accounts)

Understanding Your Extensions (Paired Accounts)

A paired account means you have two extensions that work together: one for your desk phone and one for your softphone (mobile or desktop app). You will see them both listed at the top of the UpLync Toolbox section.

When someone calls your main extension, both devices will ring at the same time. You can answer from either one.

In most cases, your desk phone extension is your main number. This is typically the number people call and where your voicemail is stored. Your softphone works alongside it so you can take calls from anywhere.

You may notice both extensions in places like call queues, voicemail, or Do Not Disturb settings. This is normal and allows the system to control each device when needed.

Even though there are two extensions, they are designed to work together as a single experience, so you usually won’t need to manage them separately.
