Can my cell number be my business number?

Can my cell number be my business number?

Many people begin their businesses using their personal cellphone number as their business phone. When they're ready to expand and add employees (or when too many customers are contacting them after business hours), they have to decide whether to get a new business phone number or convert their existing cell number.

Here's how the process works:

  1. Send us your cellphone bill, along with any PIN associated with the account. We will submit the paperwork needed to transfer the number from your cell carrier to UpLync.
  2. Go to your cellphone carrier (AT&T, Verizon, etc.) and get a new line added to your account and a SIM card to go with it. DON'T put it in your phone yet.
  3. When we confirm that your existing number is safely on our network, you can switch the SIM cards.
  4. Download and configure the UpLync Softphone app.
  5. Distribute your new cell number to family/friends.

Please note: After you convert your original cell number, you will have to use the UpLync Softphone app to make phone calls from that number. You won't be able to retrieve old text messages from that number on your mobile device.
